This newly established position will provide leadership, management and coordination of Loudoun County's Youth Initiative program, in collaboration with the Advisory Commission on Youth (ACOY) and the Youth Initiative Steering Committee and Human Services Departments. The Director will: lead the implementation and continuing development of the Youth Initiative Strategic Flan: prioritize strategies and action steps of the Plan and establish a timeline for accomplishing key objectives and action steps; identify, organize and coordinate youth-oriented programs, strategies and resources available through government, business, educational, faith based, community and youth organizations; establish strategic alliances with other organizations, civic groups, and the community at large; conduct/sponsor youth forums and input sessions and parent educational programs. The Director will report to a Deputy County Administrator and will serve as the primary contact to the Advisory Commission on Youth along with work oversight of Loudoun Youth Initiative support staff. The ideal candidate must understand the dynamics of the youth population and be knowledgeable of trends in youth-based services. Successful experience with youth programs is preferred as well as the facilitation of collaboration among non-profit and private sector agencies. A proven track record in developing and managing youth-based programs is needed, along with strong management and organizational skills. Master's degree in Psychology. Social Work, Education. Communications, Counseling or a related field (or equivalent work experience) and a minimum of fiye years experience in youth programs administration, plus two years of supervisory experience.
