The RCHS Band played four compositions at the regional gathering, including “Our Heritage March,” “Invicta,” “Yorkshire Ballad,” and “A Tallis Prelude.”

The RCHS Jazz Band at its appearance Thursday evening at the Rappahannock County High School whetted the audience’s appetite for more of its syncopated rhythms with spirited renditions of “Chameleon,” “Gringo,” and “Manteca.”

The last piece is a popular Dizzy Gillespie composition blending jazz with both Latin and African beats that is always a crowd pleaser.
