Chili Bowl fund-raiser
The third annual Piedmont Softball Association Chili Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, from 3-7 p.m. in the Bill Payne Auction gallery building on Rt. 211 in Amissville. Chili chefs compete for coveted awards; the public is invited to come judge! Also available will be $5 Hair Cuttery haircuts; exciting cake walks; a bake sale; and more. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for ages 4-8 all you can eat and under three, eat free. All proceeds benefit the girls’ softball programs of Piedmont Softball. Tsunami Relief Update
Ambassador asit Piromya of-the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, DC will meet with the Thailand Tsunami Relief Organization (TTRO) at Wakefield Country Day School in Flint Hill on Saturday March 19 at 11:30 a.m. The TTRC is a non-profit organization formed by local concerned citizens who are dedicated to providing relief to the tsunami victims in Thailand. The Ambassador will review his findings from his recent visit to tsunami affected areas and provide the group with information on the Thai fishing village that county citizens plan to “adopt” and help rebuild. Ail individuals interested in the work of this Rappahannock-based group are welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting.
Community Drum Circle
All are invited to join in creating rhythm & music on Saturday, March 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Hearthstone School in Sperryville. There are plenty of drums and instruments to share, or bring your own.
