To say that local resident Carolyn Leake is involved in the fight against cancer wouldn’t even begin to do her justice. Obsessed might just be the right term and it is readily obvious when you speak with her about it.
Carolyn has placed her^ self as close to the frontlines as she can in her fight against cancer and through the efforts of herself, her family, friends, church, and community has raised several thousand dollars over the past few years.
Last year alone Carolyn’s teams raised approximately $5,600.00 in their efforts to aid cancer research.
At one time Carolyn says there were five teams from Chester Gap competing in the local relay for life but this year it looks like there will only be two.
