Needless to say the railroad did not come to Rappahannock. I am aware that there were meetings held at the Washington House on this subject, but before I could read through the paperwork there was a fire that destroyed what I had.
Does anyone else out there have paperwork that would shed light on this subject? Please learn a lesson from my mistake. When you find old documents please make copies of them immediately and tiy to preserve them. You can always go back later and read them.
