The question looms — what happens if those disastrous events did happen around the Rappahannock County area? That is the question that local public health, law enforcement and first responders have asked, bringing together a group called the Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps in July, 2004.
The group is recruiting volunteers to come together in the event of a disaster, with 223 members signing on, to date. The distressing fact is that only three of those members are from Rappahannock County. The remaining members come from the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison and Orange.
