Like so many who work in Washington D.C. it is no wonder the Whitsons decided to seek a home outside of the city. But Susan Whitson also has deeper ties to Virginia. Elkton and Harrisonburg are the original home of her father’s family and Whitson herself was bom in Blacksburg. What really drew the couple out to the area was her husband’s love of fly fishing.
“I knew when I first saw it that I wanted to five here,” said Whitson. “My husband and I are both from small towns and we really want this to be our permanent home.”
