Poetry is alive and well in Rappahannock County as Ki Theatre hosted its first Kids Poetry Coffee House Saturday evening. For several years now, Ki Theatre has hosted the popular poetry coffee house program but this event was a special evening dedicated solely to poetry presented by the children and young adults of Rappahannock County schools.
The theatre was overflowing, with standing room only, as 34 students from first through 12th grades at Hearthstone School and Wakefield Country Day School mesmerized the audience with their poetry. The students opened their hearts and souls to the adults and all were touched by the camaraderie, enthusiasm and joy evoked by each of the youngsters performing on stage.
