In celebration of the birthday of Girl Scouting, Junior Troop 547 in Rappahannock joined other troops March 15 in Orange for a show and display of spinning and weaving. Troop 547 has been working of the Weaving and Basketry badge in the direction of Mrs. Elizabeth Scherschel and Miss Peg McDonnell both of Flint Hill, who have taught the girls to spin wool.
Wakefield Country Day School students were first, second, and third place winners in the boy’s division of the Optimist International Oratorical Contest held for area students Saturday in Front Royal.
