The article, “By George, IT IS Washington’s Birthday!" recounts how moving the federal holiday “Washington’s Birthday” to the wrong Monday in February has blurred the holiday’s connection to the first President, and given rise to the advertising sound bite “Presidents’ Day.”
New additions to our section are always welcome, so if you’ve got a book of your own, or know of a local author, let us know, we’ll be glad to add it to our collection. I’ve recently begun collecting CDs by local musicians in order to establish a “Local Music” section. If you’re a musician with a CD to donate, we’d love to have it.
