Back by popular demand, Rappahannock County’s own Ben Jones will return to the Theatre at Washington, Virginia on Saturday, February 24 at 8 p.m. with what he calls “another little show of songs, stories, and whimsy.”
“I’m calling this one ‘Cooter’s Excellent Adventure’, mainly because that’s the first title that came to my mind. Well have some great bluegrass with the Hazzard County Chamber Quartet, and HI tell a few of those stories that everyone has heard at least twice.”
Jones got his start on stage in 1962 at the University of North Carolina. He has since appeared in hundreds of films, television shows and stage productions. Although he has worked in film with directors such as Orson Welles and Mike Nichols, he is surely best known for his portrayal of “Cooter,” the faithful sidekick to the Duke cousins on the eternal television hit “The Dukes of Hazzard”.
He also served two terms in the United States Congress as a representative from Georgia.
