Trophies are awarded in three divisions: small ponies (under 13.0 hands), large ponies (13.0 to 14.2 hands) and horses.
Events are scheduled at five meets in Virginia: Rappahannock, Blue Ridge, Old Dominion, Loudoun and the Virginia Gold Cup. Many other junior racing opportunities exist at Maryland and Pennsylvania point-to-point races, including leadline races and the Junior Maryland Hunt Cup.
