Position to support the planning and operation of County-wide preschool programs. Establish operational guidelines to ensure classrooms are positive learning environments and meet the State of Virginia Child Care licensing standards. Conducts annual evaluations of each program site and recommends changes to improve program development resources. Supports the Community Center Managers with the supervision of staff and volunteers and develops a plan to recruit and employ qualified staff and to create a preschool program marketing plan to maximize enrollment. Directs the Staff Development Day Committee to develop, coordinate,schedule and execute a Series of comprehensive staff training workshops to ensure compliance with the State of Virginia. Supports the Division Manager to prepare an annual budget and revenue of approximately $750,000 to operate 100% revenue neutral County-wide preschool program. Requires Bachelor's degree in child-care, early childhood education, recreation or related field and 2 years experience managing or directing an early childhood education program. Prefer program management experience in a fee supported educational/recreation organization. Professional Early Childhood Educator and/or Certified Trainer for Early Childhood Educators preferred. Flexible work schedule, to accommodate an occasional night or weekend program function or meeting. CPR, FirstAid, and T.B. test required. Valid driver's license required. Criminal History, CPS Registry, and DMV checks required for successful candidate. Position requires 18 hours annually of training in child development and safety.
