Feb. 25: “Black Pearls”

Join us in celebrating African American History in the making. The Women’s Auxiliary of the Wayland Blue Ridge Association, Inc. will celebrate its 30th Annual Black History program on February 25, 2007, 4 p.m. by honoring ‘Black Pearls’, our local history makers in the community. This event will be held at the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Center, 15044 Ryland Chapel Road, Rixeyville. Special musical guests will be Rev. Isaac Howard and the Community Choir. The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Culpeper Chapter #73, cordially invite all Rappahannock County students, grades 112, to participate in an annual essay contest. We encourage any public, private or home schooled student to apply his or her knowledge of history. Cash prizes will be awarded and winners will be honored at a special ceremony.
