RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY, VIRGINIA
Pursuant to Section 170-129 of the Rappahannock County Code and Section 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals for Rappahannock County, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at seven-thirty in the evening in the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia, in order to consider the following applications:
SU 07-01-02 Ruby D. Updike, owner of 2.0 acres in Stonewall-Hawthorne District, located at 3528 Slate Mills Road, Sperryville (Tax Map 69, Parcel 2E, zoned A-Agricuttural), desires a Special Use permit to construct a family apartment for her son and his family. Use allowed pursuant to Code Section 170-36A of the Rappahannock County Code; additional standards under Code Section 170-62G.
SU 07-01-03 Amy N. Liscomb, owner of 15.1966 acres in Hampton District, located at 12617 Lee Highway, Washington (Tax Map.28, Parcel 48C, zoned A-Agricultural), desires a Special Use permit for a small contracting business in order to build and sell wooden horse jumps, fences, poles, and gates. The applicant plans to build a pole barn to house her business. Use allowed pursuant to Code Section 170-36A of the Rappahannock County Code; additional standards under Code Section 170-62D.
No applicant or other party in interest, and no attorney for an applicant or party in interest, shall initiate a contact with a member of the BZA for the purpose of conducting a private discussion, in person or by telephone, concerning the merits of any application, appeal, or other matter pending before the BZA. No member of the BZA shall participate in any such private discussion. Site visits or similar contacts initiated by BZA members shall not constitute such ex parte contacts.
A copy of the foregoing applications are on file at the Zoning Office in Washington. Virginia, and are available for public inspection, Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM. Said applications will be presented to the Rappahannock County Planning Commission at their regular meeting on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at seven-thirty in the evening at the Rappahannock County Courthouse for such recommendation as the Commission may wish to make pursuant to Section 170-55, if any. The above-named applicants, adjacent property owners, and any other parties desiring to be heard should be present at said meeting or should address their written comments to the Board of Zoning Appeals, c/o PO.
