Six members of this year’s team that earned varsity letters are expected to return next season, and coach Czekaj said Dean Hogan and Brooke Stokes will likely move up from the junior varsity squad. Hogan and Stokes gained a few games of varsity experience this season on nights when the JV did not have games prior to the varsity contests.
The coach attributes the Panthers’ improvement this year to the players’ commitment to rigorous off season workouts last summer. And he plans to continue that routine with next year’s team.
“The reason they improved this year was the work they put in last summer,” coach Czekaj said. “This group of kids worked really hard last summer. They’re a testament to what you can accomplish when you’re willing to do the work.
