Feb. 15: Kick-off Sheriff's election campaign
James C. “J. C." Welch will kick-off his Sheriff’s election campaign on Thursday, February 15, at 7 p.m. at the Washington Fire Department Community Room. The public is welcome to attend to hear “J.C.’s” ideas on how he will make “our' community a better place to live, work, and raise a family. “J. C." says “it will be a great honor for me to serve the citizens of Rappahannock County as their Sheriff. Refreshments will be served. Feb. 17: 4-H Presentation Workshop
Joan Proctor will be offering a free 4-H Presentation workshop to all youth between 9-18 years of age from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Extension office this Saturday. Joan will teach participants how to speak in front of others with confidence. Joan has offered this workshop many times and past participants rave about her teaching style and the many presentation techniques that they learned. Learning to speak with confidence in front of others is a skill that benefits anyone. This workshop is designed to be fun and informative.... and a pizza lunch will be provided! Feb. 18: Piedmont Softball
Association registration
Piedmont Softball Association has added registration dates for its spring season: Sunday, February 18, 1 p.m.-3 p.m., and Saturday, March 3, 9 a.m. - noon, both dates at Bill Payne Auction Gallery, Rt. 211, Amissville (between Early’s Carpet and Mayhugh’s Store). Additionally, registrations will be accepted at PSA’s 5th Annual Chili Bowl tournament scheduled for Saturday, March 17. PSA offers softball to girls ages 5 years old and up, and any skill level, beginner through advanced. Registration fees are $40. per girl playing 12 yrs. old and under, and $45. for girls playing 13 yrs. and older; offered is a $5. discount for each additional registrant after the first from the same household. Unlimited scholarships are also available. Girls new to PSA in 2007 must bring their birth certificate at registration time.
