Thompson

William Ira Thompson, 84, of Culpeper, died Tuesday, March 11, 1980, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Geest Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper, by the Rev. J. S. Colvin and the Rev. Gene Hagenberger. Burial was in the White House Brethren Church Cemetery at Stuart's Draft.

A native of Nelson County, he was the son of the late William Henry Thompson and the late Sarah Jane Bartley Thompson. He was a member of the Arlington Church of the Brethren and was a former county employee in Arlington.

He is survived by two brothers, Mangus L. Thompson of Viewtown and Harry B. Thompson of Fairfax, and a sister, Mrs. Madge V. German of Arlington. His wife was the late Hattie Riff Thompson.
