Mahoney was involved with Front Royal town police in a high speed chase from Warren County into Rappahannock, through the town of Washington on April 23, 1979 which ended on Fodderstack Road with police firing shots at Mahoney as he fled the scene on foot.

Girl Scout

Birthday

In celebration of the birthday of Girl Scouting, Junior Troop 547 in Rappahannock joined other troops March 15 in Orange for a show and display of spinning and weaving.

Troop 547 has been working on the Weaving and Basketry badge under the direction of Mrs. Elizabeth Scherschel and Miss Peg McDonnell both of Flint Hill, who have taught the girls to spin wool.

Services

The Rev. Lawson Byrd will conduct the services at Amissville United Methodist next week in conjunction with the Proclaim The Word evangelical movement in the southeast.

The services will be held from Sunday, March 23 through 26th, with prayer meeting at 6:45 and evening worship at 7:30. Bible study will be conducted at 10 a.m. on the 24th and 26th.

During this evangelical movement, the Rev. Ray Crockett, pastor at Amissville, will be serving at Hampton.
