PAL’s track committee gave special recognition to C.N. Aldrich of Rock Mills who spent days and weeks with his tractor clearing the forest from the proposed track site. He then served as advisor on grading and drainage. In recognition of his volunteer assistance, PAL proposed the track be named Aldrich Field.
“If he hadn’t worked on it, it wouldn't be there at all,” Henry Hudson told the school board members.
