Transfer Vote
If You Move
All Virgirtians who move their place of residence before the May 6, 1980, elections for city and town councils are urged to transfer their voting registration to the election district of their new residence. The last day to do this is Saturday, April 5. 1980.
If a voter fails to advise the registrar of his change of residence from one place to another, and the move occurred prior to the November 6, 1979, general election, such voter may not be permitted to vote.
Virginia law requires that a person, to be entitled to vote, must be a citizen of the United States, 18 years of age, a resident of the Commonwealth and of the precinct in which he offers to vote and must be duly registered and otherwise qualified under the Constitution.
