There is a general, movement afoot in Virginia now to prohibit parking of student automobiles at school as an energy conservation measure. If that goes through, your question becomes moot, anyhow.
To sum up, the IVth Amendment’s safeguards do not run to searches and seizures by owners or administrators of newspaper offices, tennis dubs, homes, school districts, or farms for which those legally responsible have the legal right to set the internal rules. The IVth Amendment sets specific limitations on searches and seizures by law enforcement officers of the state by the police, sheriffs, and gamewardens. If the Sheriff gets a call from a Principal that the latter is holding a student caught with drugs on him, I assume that “probable cause” has been established. Beyond that I do not presume to advise the Sheriff' on search and seizure requirements. The new Commonwealth’s Attorney will do> that.

Disappointed
To the editor:
Although I was not at the public hearing regarding illegal road hunting, I was sorry to hear of two things:
1) The non-passage of the ordinances and
2) The unwarranted and totally untrue criticism of Jim Bankston, our Game Warden.
It would be a great loss to Rappahannock citizens (hunters and non-hunters alike) if we were ever to lose this very fair-minded person.
Hopefully, he should understand that only a very small number of persons are criticizing (on what basis. Lord only knows) him.
I know a lot of people who don’t want this road hunting going on . . . many who have not appeared at hearings, etc.
In talking around, I am sure the majority of Rappahannock citizens fed this way. Since there seems to be a stalemate with the supervisors, is there not some way we can get this on the ballot by petition or referendum? I’m sure it would pass handily.
