Auxilians also operate the Thrift Shop on East Davis Street, which had a profitable year. Besides the Follies, the year’s income~~came as an Auxiliary contribution, $3,900; Coffee Shop, $7,000; gift shop, $1,500; and Thrift Shop, $6,000. An extra contribution during the past year was the purchase of corked bulletin boards for all patient rooms, installed for the Auxiliary by the Culpeper Jaycees.
Another extra, according to the President’s Report, was sharing in “the comfort and care of others.” To help continue this service Mrs. Weaver says she encourages any interested person in the community to participate, applications are available from any auxiliary member or from the hospital.
