Physical therapy uses less apparatus but also does some pretty dramatic things. People who have had strokes, or who have been restricted by a cast for some time, come to therapy to learn to control muscles properly again, with the help of a therapist. CMH has a laboratory which can handle 80 to 85 percent of all the procedures it needs done. Other materials are sent twice a day to a reference lab, and the results of tests are teletyped back.
