retired to a two hour and 15 minute executive session. Returning to open meeting after midnight, Mrs. Massie announced that the board had:
—discussed school property but had taken no action;
—approved homebound instruction for an unnamed student to begin as soon as a qualified instructor is found. Instruction is not to exceed 10 hours per week at the cost of S5 per hour and must terminate by June 6;
—agreed “to stand by a previous decision” in regard to a request for reinstatement in school of an unnamed student.
Following discussion of several informational items, the board recessed until after the special session for public response to the proposed 1980-81 school budget set for March 18. Mrs. Massie said the board will then take up “personnel and other matters not covered tonight.”
Free Recital
Outstanding students from the Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester will present a free recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, in the school’s Armstrong Auditorium.
The program for the Spring Honors Recital will include voice, piano, trumpet, violin, clarinet duo and flute quartet. The public is invited to attend.
