Wakefield Country Day School students were first, second, and third place winners in the boy’s division of the Optimist International Oratorical Contest held for area students Saturday in Front Royal. David Modre of Washington was elected chairman of the Rappahannock County Democratic Party at a meeting held Friday, March 14. He replaces Aubrey Keyser who resignetLiaschairman but will stay on as co-chairman.

Also on Friday, Dorothy Davis was elected as deputy chairman, Ed Bailey as treasurer and Mary Edna Schaefer, secretary.

County Democrats will hold their mass meeting to select convention delegates on Saturday, March 22, at noon in the court house in Washington.
