Board of Trustees since then, people representing a cross-section of the area. There have been housewives and professional people, and there are currently members from Rappahannock, Madison and Orange counties, and from Lake of the Woods. Trustees serve as volunteers, without compensation, bn a board which is the mechanism that ensures that the nonprofit community hospital meets the needs of the people it serves.
The board is committed to continuing to provide good service at a reasonable cost, Miller says, and works both with the public for input and with the staff and administration. Members also learn as they go; Miller, who has been on the board before, has been impressed since his return with the growing capabilities of the hospital and its doctors.
