She noted that she could gather most of the information needed on the applications from Moore and school administrators. The program proposal will be for a three-year period, she noted, and the application will have to be renewed each year.
“It sounds like a very interesting possibility,” said board member Charles Eldred. "We definitely do have some problems in this area.”
In-school suspension, said superintendent William Bloomer, “almost fits hand in glove with the state mandate, part of the Standards of Quality, for alternative education. “I see some great possibilities,” he added.
Mrs. Massie told Moore that the school board needed time to investigate the benefits of in-school suspension and indicated a decision will be made on applying for the DJCP grant at the April meeting.
