However, the board retains the right to reject all bids and readvertise if bids seem high, a customary procedure in letting government contracts.
Estabrook planned to meet with the architect Wednesday to start planning specification documents. No date was set to receive the bids.
The $30,000 was the amount left in the school building fund after completion of the bus shop. It would be the first of four installments totaling approximately $130,000, Estabrook told the board at its August meeting. The rest of the money for roof repairs will be included in future budget requests.
The first step in the project will be an infra-red inspection of the present roof to locate leaks and moisture retention areas likely to surround subsurface deterioration. The wet spots would be removed before the waterproof sheeting is attached.
