After a reminder from attorney Douglas Baumgardner that the board of zoning appeals had already given basically the same affirmation, Rappahannock’s supervisors voted assurances to the federal Depart ment of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that die adult group home proposed for Harris Hollow complies with the county’s comprehensive plan and poses no environmental hazards.
At Monday’s special session, Sam Snead, partner in the Rappahannock Center for Independent Living, reported that the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission, on behalf of HUD, needed answers from the county to four questions. Snead said he’d asked Baumgardner to draft a reply so that the supervisors could act on it. “Apparently, there’s now some question regarding that letter. . . These people at HUD need to know something, one wav or another,” Snead said.
