On Saturday, November 12, racing moves to Unionville, Pennsylvania, for the $8,000 added Beefeater Pennsylvania Hunt Cup.
The final race of the season is at the Colonial Cup International Springdale Course in Camden, South Carolina. This course was also owned and operated by the late Mrs. Scott, who was one of the pioneers of steeplechasing in this country.
She was the first to breed horses specifically for steeplechasing instead of transforming a mediocre flat racer into a jumper as many trainers and owners had been doing in the past.
Mrs. Scott established the spring season's Colonial Cup, America's first $100,OCX) added jump race, at Camden in 1970. The fall feature race at Camden will be the 14th running of the $50,000 added Colonial Cup International Steeplechase over two miles and six furlongs.
