The group’s timetable calls for the following to be completed in the current school year:
—Study of current vocational programs and exploration of possible alternatives (no cost),
—Completion of the cost assessment for a building program at Rappahannock County High School and application for literary loan or other funds for the work ($2,100 cost already in the 1983-84 school budget),
—Publication of a specific curriculum for the gifted and talented program by the end of the first semester (no cost).
The expense foreseen by the RCQE all comes in recommendations for 1984-85:
—$10,000 to offer all students in both schools use of computers with the goal of requiring Vi year of computer experience for graduation by 1988 (this year’s eighth grade class),
—$6,500 to offer a foreign language to elementary students,
—$100,000 to implement a proposed index pay scale for teachers with reasonable cost of living increase,
—$15,000 to upgrade pay for teachers’ extra duty assignments to at least state average,
