The 'chasers got off to a poor start because of the dry weather and hard ground. Following the Fair Hill opening, racing moved to Rolling Rock, Pennsylvania, where there was racing September 14 and 17.
Virginia is next on the circuit, and the Fairfax Hunt will host the opening meet at Belmont Plantation Saturday, September 24. Following Fairfax comes Charlottesville, where the Foxfield Fall Races Saturday, October 1, feature the American Grand National, one of the oldest steeplechase races in the country.
The Virginia Fall Races at Middleburg will, for the first time this year, be held for two consecutive days, October 8 and 9. This promises to be an interesting meet with races geared to all owners. After Middleburg, nearby Morven Park is the site for racing Saturday, October 15.
