Most young cabernets are sharp, rough wines. This left an aftertaste a bit harsh but it was more, than balanced by fullness and a wonderful woodsy bouquet. The deep red color of this wine is an indication that the skins of the grapes weren’t removed too early from the fermenting tank, a trick that will produce a smoother, less tannic wine when young but a wine that will not mature to the greatness of which a cabernet sauvignon is capable. Pleasing to both nose and palate, this wine will reach its potential after aging for a few more years.
