leading us, can distinguish intellectual meat and potatoes from Coca Cola and potato chips, money is not going to be the answer. Otherwise, it will only buy more of the Coca Cola and potato chips that unguided children seem to prefer.

“F reedom of choice” may sound progressive, but it is a sham foisted on students by adults who have no standards, or an abdication of responsibility by educators unwilling to make tough decisions about what is most important. I vote for a heavy forced diet of math, science, English, history and foreign languages.
