Record companies are quickly setting up video departments and musicians are now approaching videos not as merely supplements to their music, but as integral parts. National advertisers are finding that video clips attract a wide spectrum of viewers previously thought impossible to reach at one time—and all of this in a little over two years. Rock videos started about five years ago in Furope when shortages of radio stations willing to play new music, forced bands to find new avenues of exposure for their music. What began as a solution for European bands has become a multi-million dollar industry with most of the growth occurring in the last two years.
