Luke Vs. Konick
Peter Luke went over what he thought were the most important reasons for voting for him in the commonwealth’s attorney’s race. “I attended UVa law school but before I graduated, I worked as a police officer for the City of Virginia Beach,” he reported, adding that he had both a walking and a patrol car beat. “I was a standard policeman with full arrest powers... I learned from experience about the problems the police have when they take the abstract law and have to apply it... I know how to help the police translate the law into something they can use to protect you,” he told the audience.
Luke said that as a prosecutor for the U.S. Air Force, he’d prosecuted 60 to 80 cases compared to the two handled by his opponent while a special prosecutor for Rappahannock.
