In Hampton District, former school teacher Diane Wood is staging a write-in campaign against veteran supervisor Clarence Baldwin, a Washington merchant. The News poll found Baldwin ahead by a substantial 70 to 30 percent margin.

The survey showed J. R. Latham, 12 year member of the board of supervisors and its current chairman, with an even more comfortable lead over challenger H. G. “Butch” Zindel. In the News
