As one who normally limits his reading to the headlines, sports page and financial section, my interest was aroused by your treatment of the “mistake” by a candidate for Commonwealth’s Attorney of Rappahannock County. I suppose that the News felt that this information was earthshaking when, in fact, everyone had heard the rumors resulting from leaks months ago.
That the candidate is still practicing law after an investigation by his colleagues seems to be unimportant to the editor who insists on beating a dead horse. Apparently, the News chose to cross over that sensitive thin line between objective reporting and sensationa
