Gussie Weakley
Lifetime Rappahannock Resident Mrs. Gussie Revercomb Weakley, age 89, of Feola Mills Road, Sperryville, died Monday, October 24, 1988, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
A widow of the late Gilbert Weakley, she was a native and lifetime resident of Rappahannock County. Her parents were the late John L. and Lucy Lillard Revercomb. She was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was treasurer of the church for 60 years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jean W. Gallihugh of Sperryville; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church at Nethers Mill on Thursday by the Rev. James Taylor and the Rev. James L. Clement. Burial was in Etlan Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randolph Jenkins, J.W. Fletcher, Robert Lillard, Nelson Revercomb, Roy Strickler, Alan Plank, Woodrow Jenkins and Nelson Nethers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Gore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Jefferson
Rappahannock Native Mrs. Mary Jefferson, 86, of Sperryville, died on Saturday, October 29, 1988, at her residence. A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late William Travis and Elizabeth Jenkins Brown. She was the widow of William Jefferson. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were conducted on Monday at the Sperryville Cemetery by the Rev. Merlin Shorb. Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
