Gideon Brown Miller

Retired Farmer

Gideon Brown Miller, 81, of Sperryville, died Sunday, October 30, 1983, at Country Side Nursing Home in Pratts.

Mr. Miller, a retired fanner, was a member of the Selective Service Board of Rappahannock County for a number of years. He was a graduate of Randolph Macon Academy, Front Royal.

A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of J. James and Lucy Lillard Miller.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clelia Heizer Miller of Sperryville, one daughter, Mrs. Luanne Murphy of New Canaan, Conn., a son, James Brown Miller of Atlanta, Ga., and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery by the Rev. Douglas Farmer.

Pallbearers were Jack Miller, Bill Fletcher, Aylette Buckner, John Peyton Snead, Jim Bill Fletcher, H.B. Wood, Wallace Sanford, III and William A. Buntin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sperryville Fire Department, Sperryville Rescue Squad or the Stained Glass Window Restoration of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church.
