One statement of Mr. Konick’s I can believe is that this incident has been painful for his family and friends. It must be especially painful for those who’ve helped with this campaign. It’s even been painful for me to write this letter. But anger outweighs pain when I realize that if resolution of the Kidwell trial had been only slightly delayed, all of Mr. Konick’s friends and neighbors might have gone to the polls trusting in his apparent denial of any wrong-doing on October 5th.
“Impulsive” actions at the scene of a murder are one thing. Cool deception at a Candidate’s Forum almost a year later is something else. For Mr. Konick to run for or to continue to hold a position of public trust in this community is more than inappropriate. It’s an outrage.
