The two are accused of breaking into the ski lodge on October 1 at about 2:30 in the afternoon. According to Woodward, a caretaker on the property saw the men in the building and notified police. Berry and Schreiner as well as two juvenile suspects were arrested an hour later, according to Woodward, who credited deputies Ray Jackson and Todd Brown and state trooper Charles Moore for combined efforts in the investigation.
Woodward reports a quiet Halloween. “All they had was a little egg throwing in town,” the deputy said of Rappahannock’s holiday, a night noted for increased police patroling.
