The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation district, which includes counties of Rappahannock, Greene, Madison, Orange and Culpeper have just announced their winners in a poster contest with the theme, “Natural Resources for Today and Tomorrow”. Michele Frazier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier and a seventh grade student at Rappahannock County Elementary School was the third place winner in this contest and certainly this writer is mighty proud of her niece.

Last weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Powell were Mr. and Mrs. John Ponte of Sewell, New York who came especially to help celebrate the Powells’ 45th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. John Lamb re-entered Culpeper Memorial Hospital on Monday.

Guests last weekend at "Quaint Acres" with Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Goddard and family were Mr. and Mrs. William Russell of Virginia Beach, Miss Brigette Gutlstadt of Alexandria, Mrs. Laura deBuys of Moodus, Conn, and Miss Susie Gordon of New York City.

Mrs. Virgil Jewell along with Mrs. Alma Jones of Culpeper spent the past three weeks in New Zealand, Tahiti, Melbourne and Sydney, Australia.
