On November 1st, 21 Home Demonstration members went on a living room tour in Washington, starting at the Irvin Sisk home to see the newly redecorated dining room, then going to the Charlie Bruce residence and finally to visit the Floyd Comptons.
Congressman Burr P. Harrison was re-elected “with a complementary majority” over Republican J. A. Garver. Rappahannock’s six-to-one vote for Marrison ran close behind his better than seven-to-one majority in his home town of Winchester. He received 603 votes to Garber’s 94 in Rappahannock.
