Castleton’s Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor the first Turkey Ridge Run on December 3, a road race that will join the spring Fodderstack Classic as an annual Rappahannock sporting events.
“The incredibly scenic 7.3 mile course is a runner’s dream,” said organizer Phillip Strange. “Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, the run starts and finishes down hill—with a challenging bump or two in between.”
Runners will take off from the Castleton fire hall at 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Contestants may preregister by mail through November 28 by sending the $6 entry fee (payable to Castleton Fire Department) to Phillip Strange in care of the Castleton Fire Department, General Delivery, Castleton, Va. 22716. Post registration of $7 will be accepted until 10 a.m. the day of the race.
