Mrs. Virgie Pierce Tharpe, 66, of Culpeper, died Saturday, October 29, 1983, in a Charlottesville hospital.
A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert J. and Willie Martin Pierce. Her husband was the late Eddie Tharpe. She was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gid Fincham and Mrs Richard Hoffman, both of Culpeper; a son, John M harpe of Culpeper; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Pierce Campbell of Culpeper and Mrs. Ollie Settle of Orange.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at Clore Funeral Home by the Rev. John S. Farrar. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Gilbert Frazier

Gilbert Robert Frazier, 75, of Front Royal, died Saturday, October 29, 1983, at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at the Maddox Funeral Home by the Rev. John P. Oliver, Jr. and Rev. Richard D. Baise. Burial was in Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
Mr. Frazier was born May 26, 1908, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Lloyd and Frances Pullen Frazier. A retired telephone employee, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Front Royal and the Unity Masonic Lodge 146, AF & AM.
Surviving are his wife, Nora Elizabeth Frazier; one son, Cletus David Frazier of Front Royal; a stepson, Larry Politte, also of Front Royal; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are a brother, Clifton Frazier of Broadway and six sisters, Laura Aleshire, Alice Frazier, Leslie brazier, Elizabeth Brubaker and Cloe Woodward, all of Luray and Mabel Frazier of Fort Wayne, Ind.
