From your newspaper account following release of previously-sealed court records, it now appears (1) that David Konick intentionally tampered with criminal evidence in a murder case, (2) that he may have lied to and threatened the present commonwealth attorney, and (3) that at the October 5th Candidate’s Forum he responded to Mr. Evans’ direct inquiry about the fingerprint wiping by stating “It wouldn’t be appropriated for me to be running for commonwealth attorney if that were true.”

Mr. Konick’s prepared response to the Rappahannock News about his actions was fascinating in a number of aspects, but it was the following two statements that taken together I found particularly disturbing: first he states “In some people’s minds this incident raises questions about my honesty and integrity.”; he follows with “This incident is not an
