The Lady Panthers ended the 1983 regular basketball season on a high note last Thursday, beating Clarke County 65-54.
With that win, they played theirt way to a 646 Bull Run District record. “After last year’s 0-12 in the district, that is really remarkable,” said coach Theresa McLawhorn, who conducted the Lady Panthers.
Thursday’s score was an award winner. In the victory over Clarke, the Panthers set a new school record for points amassed by a girls’ team. The performance sends them into Tuesday night’s first round tournament game with a roll of drums and fanfare of trumpets.
