A joint investigation involving the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries, the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service and the Virginia State Police has resulted in the arrest of 11 Page and Rappahannock County residents on charges of violating state and federal game laws.
Thomas R. Baldwin Sr., of Sperryville, was charged with one federal felony, involving the illegal interstate transportation and purchase of furs. He was also charged with three misdemeanor violations of state game laws: sale of deer meat, possession of an untagged bobcat hide, and failure to have a shipment of furs inspected.
Danny Ray Baldwin, also of Sperryville, was charged with one state misdemeanor, sale of deer meat.
Nine Page County residents were also arrested during the operation, which was coordinated with arrests of suspects in Maryland and Delaware. Beginning about 6 a.m. Monday, warrants were served on the individuals allegedly involved in the illegal activities.
